The Centre of Research Excellence in Bipolar Disorder (CORE-BD)
Prof Sue Cotton is a registered psychologist (trained in neuropsychology) and a consultant biostatistician who has extensive experience in psychiatric research, especially clinical trials and longitudinal research. Her research interests are largely in psychotic disorders including leading a large longitudinal cohort study, and two novel treatments for bipolar disorder and first episode psychosis. She also leads health service evaluation projects including a project focusing on modelling outcomes from youth primary mental health services. Prof Cotton also leads a newly funded NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Bipolar Disorders (CORE-BD). She is involved with numerous treatment trials (including psychotherapy and/or drug trials) for first episode psychosis, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, major depressive disorder and substance use disorders.
